He was at the scene of the battle which wiped out the St. Mihiel salient. His evacuation hospital advanced with allied troops and Major Hennington remained on duty throughout the fighting near the Argonne until the armistice was signed. Includes Hennington's note: "Chapter 9 describes the hospital where I was on duty Sept. to Nov 1918.
