An important work in early radiology.  This was Dr. Kohler's first book, which established his reputation as an imminent radiologist.  Alban Kohler is best known for the invention of grid therapy (sieve).  He co-founded Deutsche Rontgengesellschaft in 1905, and served as its president.  In his later work, Kohler was concerned with bringing together the two disciplines of radiology and surgery, and published a work on this theme. He also published on tuberculosis of the lungs as well as on radiologically recognizable diseases of the skeleton. He introduced technical modifications to achieve improved X-ray visualization of the heart.
