The English translations of Greek classics by Robert Machell at Cambridge (and Scotland). The earliest date in the books begin in 1815. Includes a presentation inscription from Machell on Oct. 1834, and various signatures by him. Includes an ink drawing of Cambridge on the rear end page and a large drawing of a man in a suit on the presentation page. The author is presumed to be the Rev. Robert Machell (1796-1860) of Bevelery, Yorkshire, England; who died in Marton, Yorks. Later bookplate of Lionel Cresswell (M.P., of the Middle Temple and Burley in Wharfedale, Esq.)
