Gilt wooden frame under glass. Map dimensions: 8.6 x 9.4".  Frame dimensions: 14 x 15".  Nicely engraved map with the Arabian Peninsula figuring prominently. The map shows all of Turkey and the Black Sea, and extends east to include the Caspian Sea and the region of today's Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan.  Outlined in color.  "An. IIIe de la Republique Francaise." Engraved by E. Dussy and the cartouche by Arrivet. This map was purchased in 1994 in Turkey and framed there by Galeri Cerveve, in Istanbul. Pedley 380.
