Gibbeny / Gibbony Family Bible. Contains a great deal of ephemera.  Including Braided dark hair, marriage certificate, hand written birth and death notices (first entry John M. Gibboney, 1805, (-1884, Blair County PA)), and newspaper death notices, numerous family letters, Letter from 1969 on family history from Harold Gibboney.  It appears Forrest Smith (Chambersburg, PA) last received it from Harold. Numerous Altoona, PA newsclippings.  Pages have scattered foxing/toning.  Both boards detached and worn.  Engraved plates. Early Gibboney family signatures.  The Gibboney family in  Pennsylvania descends from Alexander Gibboney, of Bucks county.  Benjamin A. Gibboney, his grandson fought in the American Revolution.  Includes a long memorial by Margaret to her son Luther M. Gibboney (1842 - 1861), who died at 19 from Typhoid after serving in the Civil War, CO H 14 REGULAR PA VOLUNTEERS. "My son Luther Gibboney enlisted in th service of the United states to put down the slave holders Rebellion....  Duncansville, Blair Co. PA."  The last entry on the deaths page is a memorial by John to his beloved wife in 1874.
