[Woman of Renown: Early English printing] Folio, 34.5 x 21.5 cm.  Bound in contemporary Cambridge-style calf.  Rebacked with modern leather spine.   Title in red and black.  [24], 127, [1], 181.  21 full-page, folding plates. Additional Folded, illustrated title page of Anne of Austria, "La galerie des femmes fortes." (Originally published in 1647). The engraved plate is signed: Petrus Berretinus Corton, invenit, and Karol. Audran fecit.  Engraved plates by Vignon; engraved by Aegid (Gilles) Rousselet, Abraham  Bosse,  Pierre  de  Corton, and Pierre  Mariette. 

List of Famous women pictured: Debora, Jahel, Judith, Salome, Mariamne, Panthea, Camma, Artemisia, Monime, Zenobie, Lucrece, Claelia, Porcia, Arria, Paulina, The French Judith, Eleanor of Castile, Princess of Wales, The Maid of Orleans, The victorious captive, Mary Stewart.  Light dampstain to margin of two plates, Panthea and Artemisia, not effecting the images.
