Written by the noted educator (and wife of Horace Mann), Mary Tyler Peabody. Mary Peabody Mann was an important educational reformer in her own right and she was a strong advocate for women's suffrage. First printed in 1838, this book is a collection of tales about a young girl who was introduced to plants in her garden and had imaginary conversations with crocuses, violets, and geraniums.
