[A Rare and Large collection of Sam Rayburn Ephemera] 243 Envelopes from the "The Speaker's Rooms, House of Representatives U.S., Washington, D.C."  Sam Rayburn M.C.  First Day of Issue, Bonham, Tex, Sept 16, 1962.  Each includes a Sam Rayburn 4 cents stamp first day cover.   

Sam Rayburn served in Congress representing Texas's 4th congressional district as a Democrat from 1913 to 1961 for 49 years in Congress (24-terms).  He served as Speaker of the House for 17 years.  This stamp was issued in 1962 in memoriam of Rayburn's death.
