Thick folio.  Pages are generally in very good condition.  Mostly clean, unmarked pages, a few scattered spots to some of the rear most pages.  Surprisingly good condition.  Title within architectural border.  Each part has a special title page with a 1627-1628 imprint. Engraved title. 1321 pages.  Bound in early 1/4 leather over marbled boards.  Boards rubbed.  Rebacked. Small 19th Cen. Methodist Church book plate on front paste down. 

Joseph Hall (1574-1656) was an early English satirist and Bishop of Exceter and later Bishop of Norwich. Hall has been described as an Anglican Calvinst by M.W. Dewar.   Of him Thomas Fuller wrote: "He was commonly called our English Seneca, for the purenesse, plainnesse, and fulnesse of his style.
