Matthew Poole (1624-1679) was an English Nonconformist theologian.  He is best known for this work, Synopsis Criticorum Biblicorum, where he presents the view of 150 biblical critics (Catholic, Rabbinical, etc.)  Poole attempted to bring together all that had been written to illustrate the Scripture throughout the ages. -DNB.
