Plate facing p. 48, "The jubilee cricket analysis", is by Beardsley.  Beardsley entered the Brighton Grammar School in 1885.  This issue of the school magazine, issued when he was only fourteen, contains his full-page illustrations that consist of eleven visual puns on cricketing terms, signed "A.V.
