Bache was an American army officer from Philadelphia.  He was the son of Benjamin Franklin Bache, grandson of Sallie Franklin Bache and Richard Bache, Great-grandson of Benjamin Franklin.  Bache describes an interesting meeting with Simon Bolivar's sister.
