Some stains, mostly to rear most pages. Gift inscription to "Amelia Neville Oliver Crittendon.  Shields,  Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, 1857-1920, my grandmother's Shields' cook book."  The Shield's family was a prominent family of Western Pennsylvania. "History of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania," Warner, 1889. pg. 507.  Miss Leslie's cook book was the most popular American cookbook of the 19th century.
