Reproductions of two hundred engravings commissioned by Frederick William IV, King of Prussia, for Oeuvres de Frederic le Grand. Originally intended only for the king's private distribution, the first, deluxe edition was produced at the Berlin Academy of Sciences. Menzel completed the designs on wood between 1843 and 1849. Other French-language editions published in 1882 in Berlin and Paris.
