[An import plate-book on Orchids] Atlas volume.  121 lithographed plates (of 122, lacking plate 10).  109 hand-colored.  Held in publisher's cloth backed portfolio, printed boards with paper ties.  Minor edge wear to portfolio, particularly at the corners.  Small signature of Oswaldo Lomer on title.  Nissen, BBI 316; Stafleu & Cowan 971.  

The noted French pharmacist and botanist Edmond Camus began this work with the assistance of his daughter Aimee Camus.  After his death she completed this book and was a famous botanist in her own right.  She identified and named 677 species of land plants.
