Interesting provenance: From the library of Julia Carter Welch, wife of Gus Welch. Gus Welch (a full blooded Chippewa) was an All American Indian football player and later a college football and lacrosse coaches at Randolph Macon College, University of Virginia, American University and Georgetown. He attended the Carlisle Indian School with Jim Thorpe and served on his football team as quarterback. In 1923, Welch married Julia Carter, daughter of Charles David Carter, Oklahoma Congressman from Boggy Depot.
