[Early Mexican Imprint: Mexican incunable] First edition.  Square 4to; 21 cm.  Bound in worn, early vellum.  Leather puckering.  404, [8 of 16] leaves.  Defective, lacking 14 leaves:  4 preliminary leaves, including the title page, leaf 303, illustrated leaf 373, and final 8 index leaves.  The last 22 leaves have increasing loss.   Woodcut diagrams on leaves 352v and 362v.  Garcia Icazbalceta 47; Medina, Mexico I:50; Palau 134124; Sabin 39677.  Printed by Antonio de Espinosa, the second printer in the New World.  Espinosa is reputed to have "brought printing in Mexico to maturity" - Woodbridge, p. 13.  The author later became the Bishop of Oaxaca.  In this work he discusses the use of the seven sacraments in the Mexican church.
