MS Balliol 388; 390; 392: Three collections of manuscripts bound in one volume. Includes holograph facsimiles of the poems and papers of Robert Browning held at Balliol College, Oxford University. Contents: MS 388. Robert Browning, Red Cotton Night Cap Country (pub. 1873); The Inn Album (pub. 1875). MS 390 - Pacchiarotto: and How he worked in Distemper (published 1876); La Saisiaz: The Two Poets of Croisic (pub. 1878). "MS 392 - Original holograph texts of poems of Robert Browning, written out on quarto paper with a varying amount of subsequent correction, and used as printer's copy. This volume contains Ferishtah's Fancies (1884) and Parleyings with certain People of importance in their Day (1887)." Large folio, 38 x 31 cm. Stain along top edge, but doesn't overly effect text. Custom bound by the Little Rock Library bindery in brown cloth. Note: The holographs are not dated, and the publication date is only assumed. <br> From the personal library of one of the editors of the variorum edition of the Complete works of Robert Browning, Ashby Bland Crowder. Dr. Crowder was a Fulbright Scholar, and English professor at Hendrix College.
