1st ed. Nobbes has been called the father of trolling.  Bound in contemporary leather. Small 8vo.  2 woodcuts within text. [20], 78, [2] pages.  Wing N1193; Westwood & Satchell, p. 156; ESTC R17278; Pforzheimer 2:771. Provenance: Charles Hardy's armorial bookplate on front pastedown, Delapree. Hardy was a colonial governor of New York and British admiral.  (Delapre was a Norman-era monastery in Northampton, that became a private residence after the 1538 Dissolution of the Monasteries. Hardy sold the residence later in his life.  Nobbes preface dedicates the book to James Tryon, Esq. of Norhamptonshire.  Interestingly, Charles Tryon's grandson William was the colonial governor of North Carolina and New York a few years after Hardy.)
