Michaud III, 674; Brunet I, 778.  Bentivoglio served as the papal nuncio under Pope Paul V to the court of the Habsburg Netherlands (1607-1615).  He was primarily concerned with the conclusion of the Eighty Years war and the fate of Catholics in the Dutch Republic. This book also contains his account ofthe Julich-Cleves inheritance controversy with the United Netherlands.  He later was stationed to the Court of France (1616 – 1621), during the Regency of Queen Marie de' Medici.  Italian language.  [History of the Netherlands, Hapsburgs, Belgium, Della Guerra di Fiandria]
