Dornbusch IV, 8141. Nevins I, p.152. Robson (1844-1920) enlisted in Company D of the 52d Virginia Confederate Infantry in July, 1861. "The volunteer of 1861 was a very elaborate institution, and entertained the idea that he was little if any inferior to Napoleon." Re-enlisting in May 1862, he served until wounded at Cedar Creek, when his leg was amputated.
