An look at daily life in Republican China in Qinghe along the Qinghe River in the Hebei Pronvince. This book details the family structure and the economic, religious and politic statistics of China before the Japanese invasion and World War II. An interesting note is that 10% of the population were of the Muslim faith. The village itself would be engulfed by the expansion of Beijing in the 1950s.
