From the library of Effingham Buckley Morris (1856 - 1937), Penn class of 1875.  Morris was president of the Girard Trust Company for 41 years, from 1887 - 1928.  " During his forty-one year tenure as president, the Girard Trust Company's assets would grow to an unheralded size. " - UPenn.  Signed by Mrs. Stacey B. Lloyd of Ardmore Pa (whose father Effingham Morris was the Chairman of the company).   Includes seven loose pieces of related ephemera: 1. a letter from the President of the Girard Trust Company; 2. a letter of condolence from one of the executives of the Trust company; 3. the Special Meeting of the Board of Managers regarding Morris's death, signed by the Treasurer; 4. a poem In Memoriam for Morris by Leigh Mitchell Hodges; 5. the Funeral Service program for Morris; 6. Remarks of Mr. Morris to the Board of Managers from their last meeting in 1936; and 7. a signed typed-letter from the current manager (1936) concerning this book.  

Provenance: From the Morris family of Philadelphia, which is featured prominently in this book. This particular volume was owned by Effingham Morris's daughter, Eleanor Burroughs Morris Lloyd Thacher.  It passed from Stacy Bancroft Lloyd, to Bunny Mellon and the final owner was Stacy Bancoft Lloyd, III (1936-2016).
