Fully extended, the map's dimensions are 32 x 39 cm (folded 13 x 8 cm). Hand colored, engraved map showing roads, towns, railroads, the Pennsylvania Canal, counties, as well as inset maps of 'Lehigh and Schuylkill Coal Regions' and the 'Vicinity of Philadelphia'. 1st year of issue of the Tourist series of maps by Mitchell. Earlier issue than the 1834 date used by Ristow and Schwartz & Ehrenberg as the start of the Tourist Pocket map series. With a paste down sheet of the 1830 census of Pennsylvania. The map has a long tear along one of the fold lines.
