Collated:  [12], 192, cix pages.  6 folding hand-colored maps and plans by William Faden (2 with overlays), one folding table.  Includes maps and details of the battles of Hubbardton, Bennington, the attack at Walmscock, encampment at Swords House, Braemus Height, the position at Saratoga, and a map of the Lake Champlain district.  Second edition of Burgoyne's defense of his performance in the disastrous Saratoga campaign of 1777, which resulted in the surrender of his 6000 man army to the American continental forces led by General Gates.  After the disaster at Saratoga, Gen. Burgoyne defined his actions by arguing that he was given half the troops he had requested and was not adequately provisioned.
