Early bookplate of Sarah Morris (1815-1905). Inscription by Isaac Wistar Morris (1770-1831) to his daughter Sarah.  Morris was from an early Philadelphian family (descendant of Anthony Morris) and prosperous Quaker merchant and brewer.  A genealogical note states, "Isaac w. Morris sent this book from New York to his daughter Sarah in 1822.  This account was now presented to my dearest cousin Annie Buckley Morris, 1892." Also includes a note about Isaac's death from heart disease in 1831.   Annie Buckley Morris (1836–1915) was a great grand daughter of Isaac.  The book then passed to Effingham Buckley Morris Sr., to  Eleanor Burroughs Morris Lloyd Thacher, and then to Stacy Bancroft Lloyd. (who signed the title in pencil.) This volume was owned by the family for a number of generations, the last owner being Stacy Barcoft Lloyd, III (1936-2016), the son of Bunny Mellon.
