The second book, Recueil des plus Beaux has 24 plates. The second volume, Recueil's gutters are dampstained. A view of Renaissance era Tuscany. Particular focus on the architecture / edifices of Florence. 133 plates total. After travels through Italy during which he sketched the local architecture, Auguste-Henri-Victor Grandjean de Montigny joined a French artistic mission to the Portuguese court in Brazil and eventually became acting director of the Royal Academy in Rio de Janeiro.  Avery, p. 404; Graesse II, 550, citing 1st ed.  This is an oversized or heavy book, that requires additional postage for international delivery outside the US.
