[Early American Newspaper: Ratification of the Constitution by Connecticut]  18 x 11 3/8 inches.  4 pp.  Minor edge wear.  Horizontal crease along center from original fold.  Minor tape repairs along the crease from the margin.  The paper provides a view into the early days of the American confederation.  Interesting advertisements include a young woman's offer to be a wet nurse, a mother whose child recent died request for a child to care for, Treasurer David Rittenhouse's tax notice, the publishing of Cary's Second American Museum, etc.   The news of Connecticut's ratification vote on the new United States Constitution (they were the fifth state to do so) is reported.  Other important news of the day came from Ireland (Londonderry), Maryland, the development of scientific societies in the United States, etc.  An early predecessor to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
