Several volumes bound have the original wraps.  Generally clean and unmarked. A few folding plates have small tears. Illustrated with mechanical plates and figures. 

In 1826, The Journal of The Franklin Institute was established to publish US Patent information and to document scientific and technological achievements throughout the nation. It is the second oldest continuously published scientific journal in the country, and is now primarily devoted to applied mathematics. The journals aim was not to just shed light on new inventions, patents and technology but to bridge the gap between inventor, purchaser, workman scientist and layman.
