Scarce American Revolutionary-era pamphlet.  Bound in later 3/4 leather over marbled boards. Horizontal crease to front and rear boards. Binding weak.  Library stamps. 106 pages + errata.  A late appeal to continue the war against American independence.  The author makes recommendations on how to win the American conflict.  Interestingly, he discusses the danger of defeat to the upstart colonies, which he warns will lead to a new American empire that will take Spain's possessions and threatened all European counties interests in the New World.  Adams 82-19; Sabin 23758.

Interesting provenance: Presentation book plate from Col. Thomas Aspinwall. Aspinwall (1786-1876, Harvard Class of 1804) was the second-longest-serving United States consul, holding the London position from 1816 - 1854. He was born in Brookline, MA and presented this book to the library in 1859. He served with distinction as an officer in the War of 1812 and was promoted for his valor in the battle of Sackett Harbor. While in London he served as a long standing literary agent for William Prescott, Washington Irving and Lewis Tappen.
