Edwin Arlington Robinson was a noted American playright and poet from Maine.  He won the Pulitzer Prize three times in 1922, 1925, and 1928.  His work has been described as describing the American dream gone wrong.  Robinson wrote on "themes of personal failure, artistic endeavor, materialism, and the inevitability of change," according to Robert Gilbert.
