Sikorsky (May 1889-October 1972) was an aviation pioneer in both in fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.  His fifth airplane design, the S-5, first brought him national prominence. After immigrating to the United States Sikorsky founded the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, and he developed the first of Pan American’s flying boats which conquered the oceans in the 1930’s. Sikorsky designed then flew the Vought-Sikorsky VS-300, the first American helicopter, which rotor configuration is still used in helicopters today. Hardcover. Good binding and cover.
