In 1919 at the instigation of J. Edgar Hoover under the Alien Act of 1918, Emma Goldman and over 200 other alien radicals were deported to the Soviet Union aboard the S.S. Buford. This was her report after two years residence in that country under the incompetent and brutal reign of the Bolsheviks.
