Bound in contemporary speckled calf. head of spine chipped. , 392 p. ; 18 cm. Contains the primary history of the Franco-Dutch War and Third Anglo-Dutch War from Sir Temple. Temple was an important ambassador in King Charles II's foreign service who negotiated various treatise with the Dutch. Temple's sympathy with the Dutch caused him to leave Charles' service due to the Crown's continuing belligerence.
