Don Cameron Allen (1903-1972) was the Sir William Osler Professor of English at Johns Hopkins University.  He is the author of The Harmonious Vision, Image and Meaning, and Doubt's Boundless Sea; the editor of A Celebration of Poets; and coeditor of The Poetic Tradition: Essays on Greek, Latin, and English Poetry.
